Man you really missed the point of exactly what "standing up for yourself" is here, didn’t you? Never before has the idea of pacifism been as massively misconstrued as in this here journal entry. I’m not sure whether or not to be impressed.

These people who answer back saying "thanks for stopping by" or "yeah whatever"? With the exception of the occasional spineless jellyfish, most of them probably just know that pathetic comments aren't worth their time, and it's a lot harder to be genial to someone when they're bitching down your throat than it is to swear back at them.

I’m no more a fan of sugar coating my comments and making out that bad art (remembering that what constitutes as good or bad art is, at least in part, a matter of personal opinion) is better than it is than you are. But hey, why raise your fists and punch someone if that someone is a senseless brat with no manners, and whose words aren’t really going to do you any harm (or help you), anyway? Governments aren't run by the people who can punch the hardest (okay our government's a little shitty anyway, but I somehow doubt that fist fights in the isles every week would improve things... Maybe one every few years or so...)

What these people are basically saying is: "Yeah, I'm better than you, I don’t need to rise to your bait". If you actually posed a threat? At least some of them would probably rise up in arms and take you down. But you don’t. You’re just a nameless voice on an online environment consisting of millions upon millions of people.

Remember that.
